My birthstone

My birthstone is opal and tourmaline. These stones are the stones of October. Opal is a rainbow colour. It is so pretty because of all the colours in it. The opal represents faithfulness and confidence. And apparently the Latin word opalus means ‘ precious jewel.Tourmaline stones are many colours. There are only three colours that I know about green, pink and black.

 I am sure of that we all can have Fun if we work together. I believe that Integrity is doing the even if no one is looking e.g picking up things if they aren't yours. We all know that Respect is taking care of the environment and people. I am certain that excellence is having fun even when learning. I believe Achievement is achieving things
that you never thought you could achieve. In my opinion Confidence is being able to stand up for yourself and saying things in front of big crowds. I know that Enjoyment is doing things that make you happy.

St Johns

On wednsday room 6 had went to the St john's to learn more about medical safety.I learnt that u have to put something in the hand to consume all the blood.WE had learnt medical rules like the doctors AB.

Food

Food!!! I’m so hungry I could eat plain bread My stomach sounds like idk In the kitchen my Koro is making nachos It looks so good The best part smells like cheese Now my stomach is sounding like idk I cannot wait! now I'm feeling like im gonna die Finally! the time has come. We say Karakia and it's time to dig into the meal Hmmm… just like I remember the taste of lazania in my mouth.

My holiday

My holiday During the holiday I had quite a good time. I was also happy because my little sister went to skids. My mum and I had gone to Starbucks while my sister was at skids. Plus me and my mum went shopping for some things like shoes, clothes, food and lollies. When my sister stayed home we would either stay home or go out shopping. Then on friday I went to skids cause I had nothing better to do and that day we went to the museum. It was quite boring. My favorite part of the museum was the weird and wonderful room. Later that day we went home and my grandad, my little sister and I went to my aunty’s house cause my Koro wanted to drink with my aunty.

Pak-n-save walk

 

Yesterday we went to Paknsave to learn more about nutrition. Rm 6 walked all the way to Paknsave. Then when we got there we walked in groups so then went to find everyday things and sometimes things.

Nutrition

I learnt that our body is made of water. I also learnt that milk has calcium in it.

 

Camp OBA

I really enjoyed camp. My favorite thing we did was kayaking. The thing i didn't really like was the Burma trail I cried before we even got there. I really want to go back we also did a lot  of fun things like flying fox, confidence course, rainbow tag,  air riffles and kayaking. The food there was so nice but there was to much salad in it. I wish to go back one day.

Life Education

Yesterday and today room 6 went to Harold the giraffe. We learnt what the brain looks like and how the brain works. Harold and Nicole had taught us about that our brain has a upstairs and downstairs.

How to make Koko alaisa

Ingredients

1. Koko

2. Alaisa(rice)

3. Vai(water)

4. Suka(sugar)

5. Pe’e pe’e(coconut cream)

Equipment

1. Pot(ulo)

2. Knife(nafi)

3. Spoon(spuni)

4. Cup(ipu)

5. Oven(ogaumn)

Method

1. Wash the Alaisa 3 times 

2. Add Vai to alasia (3 to 4 quarters of the ulo)

3. Let it boil

4. Add ½ koko to the ulo

5. Let it boi

6. Add suka and pe’epe’e

7. Let it boil for 10 minutes

8. Serve and enjoy!

Buddy class with room 1

On Friday we had buddy class with room 1 across the court. They were so nice to do work with. We were learning about our teinana our body we had to talk about three parts. We could pick whatever we want to do.

On Friday I got a certificate for displaying sportsmanship in rugby. I love ripper rugby because I like ripping the tags of other players

Room 5 & 6 museum trip

On Wednesday room 6 & 5 went to the Museum. When we got there we were escorted to a room where we put our bags and eat. The people there took us to the Marae so we can learn more about it. They taught us how to do these patterns. This is mine and Brookes. Soon after we went and explore the museum  and went outside for some fresh air.

 Today we had special people come in named Kaitiaki kids.

They said that we should spend more time outside and explore Papatuanuku (mother nature)

ANZAC COOKIES

 We made ANZAC cookies.  It tasted delicious.  I wanted to eat more!!!

It wasn't as tasty as pani popo.

Tapa art

 In room six on Wednesday the 10th we did tapa art with Mrs.Cox and Alan. When we did the art we used normal paper and drew our designs and went over with maker.
